Forty-five (45) Pleasant Years to Remember

Dear Classmates,

The 45th Anniversary Homecoming celebration of Cavite National High School Class of 1965 was held last February 13 & 14, 2010 in the Philippines. The homecoming activities were graced by a modest number of "balikbayans" from Australia, Canada, Germany, and the USA. Again, repeatedly and humbly we say, the reunion was, like the past homecomings, a success.

The first day event started with a registration of alumni participants as early as 6:00 in the morning of February 13, 2010 at the Ladislao Diwa Elementary School. An early morning mass was held at the multi-purpose hall of the school afterwhich, a jubilant parade was held along the main street of Cavite City and ended at the Montano Hall of our Alma Mater. After the parade, the throng of alumni proceeded to the Twinkle Farm in Santa Rosa, Noveleta, Cavite for the day long Fun Day event. The program festivities was emceed by our lovely classmate Hazel Argota Sanares. The program at Twinkle Farm started with the singing of the Philippine national anthem led by Lucy Montano followed by the invocation offered by Luphe Flores Nocon. The Philippine CNHS65 Alumni Association vice president Ollie Herrera Abuid welcomed all the affair participants. Community singing, dance presentations and parlor games were performed to the delight and enjoyment of the audience. Gifts, courtesy of our classmates from San Diego led by Eder Abad Alberto, Louis Lumbreras, and Mike Lim, were distributed to all the local participants during the affair.

The second day was a dinner-dance event held at the Portico de Cecilia in Kawit, Cavite and emceed by the lively duo of Joel Lamangan and Nini Austria Reynante. The invocation was offered by Romy Obien and the opening remarks was given by the Philippine Class 1965 Alumni Association President Doris Cayas Alcera. The orchestra/band "Dorothy & Friends" courtesy of Director Joel Lamangan rendered delightful music to the delight of the night's guest. After a sumptuous dinner, the night was spent mostly to dancing till the closing hours of 12 midnight.

The two-day events will always be remembered and cherished by all of us. The camaraderie, the happiness of seeing old friends, the memories of our high school years will always be coming back through the years.

Thank you, dear classmates. See you again in the next and up-coming Golden Anniversary Celebration in 2015. Long live the Class of 1965 of the Cavite National High School!
